This course is an introduction to the world of green coffee evaluation for new and aspiring coffee roasters. Learn how to design, equip and use standard coffee QA equipment. Additionally, you will learn how to grade green coffees according to the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), and learn how to classify coffees against standard trade descriptions. If you are on the way to opening a coffee roasting business, or even just thinking about it, this class is a perfect starting point to success.
This course is an introduction into the sophisticated world of cupping coffee for those who will select which coffees to buy and/or approve. Learn how to sample roast coffees to the ideal cupping level, how to prepare a cupping and how to record your results for your use in the future. Students will learn to use the SCAA forms, and learn how to properly create useful feedback for suppliers. If you are the decision-maker about which coffees to buy for your company, this course will give you the tools you need to interact with your suppliers with confidence.
